Old Jello Ads

I love these old ads!  Of course, I love anything old, but I am fascinated by the advertising of yesteryear.  I like the simple graphics and wording.
I have some old Jello ads that I hope you will like and use them in your art.  I have not figured out exactly what to do with them yet.  Two heads are better than one, so maybe a bunch of heads are better than two!!  If anyone has an idea for them, will you please share it?  I would like to see something done with them.

Be sweet now!

A Couple More Of My Own Little Digi Creations

This is my mother in law at age 16.  Wasn't she a beauty?  I placed her over a picture of apple blossoms that I cropped to fit.  I got too much color on the edges and never could shrink it or remove it but it was fun to try!

This is one I played with a while and am not sure exactly what I am supposed to be doing but I guess if I sort of like it, it may be okay for others as well.  I haven't learned how to get the colors I would like but I guess it gets easier with practice.  I would especially like to thank Bliss Angels for her sweet comments on my last post! They were so encouraging and make me want to learn even more.  Thank you SO much!!!  Now if I can ever figure out how to make an ATC!!!
Remember to always be sweet and always be nice!!

These are two images I made playing in my digital image program. It is such fun for me and I just might have found a new hobby!!  Can you imagine, at my age?! I have always loved to manipulate photos of my family to use in my scrapbooks, but I have done these two to give as freebies on this site and hope you will find them useful in your art. They are free to use as you please. I only ask for a link back to my site or credit for them. I hope you like them and have as much fun using them as I did in making them.
Be sweet!!

Mesmerizing Angel Images

I don't believe I know or have ever known anyone who is not mesmerized by angels.  The sweet little cherubs bring us a sense of well being and calmness.  Countless images of angels have graced walls, lurked in the minds of many and brought happiness to all who had the pleasure to look upon them.
These are three such images.  They are yours, free to use as you please. I hope you like them.  They are gorgeous when sepia toned, placed on an old fashioned paper along with an inspirational quote. I have often placed a page from an old songbook on the page as well.  They are then matted with black, put into a pretty frame and become a beloved gift to place in a prominent place on a loved one's wall or display in a holder on a night stand or favorite table.  There are many, many ways the lovely little angels can be incorporated into a gift or craft.
Enjoy your angels and ... be sweet!!

Gorgeous Old Magazine Covers

Cosmopolitan and The Ladies Home Journal for 15 cents?  The blue Cosmopolitan is newer, 1933 to be exact and the price has gone to a whopping 25 cents!!  Wouldn't it be nice to purchase such classy magazines at those prices today?!
Hats were so fashionable back in the day.  I love the black hat with the big red ribbon, although the jaunty little beige with its cluster of flowers is stunning as well.
I hope you like these images and can find a use for them in one of your projects.  I think they would be lovely, simply matted and framed in a set.
That's about it for this time, so be sweet, all and enjoy the freebies.

A Child's Best Friend Was Often a Book

I love these old childrens' books.  I remember as child my brothers and I had stacks of books that my mother read to us so many times the pages became worn and dog eared.  How we loved our books and the wonderful pictures and stories inside.  I often went to sleep holding a favorite book in my arms.  Mother Goose was one of my very favorite of all, so I especially like this image and hope you do as well.  I do think you will find a place for these in your art.
As always, be sweet!!!

Vintage Cigarette Ads

These old cigarette ads are funny and yet, not!  These were back in the day when the dangers of cigarette smoking was not well known and it was considered "hip" and "cool" to smoke.  Teenagers began to smoke in those days almost as soon as they were old enough to sneak a cigarette or two out of mom or dad's pack!
Just look at former President Ronald Reagan, with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, surrounded by cartons of "the beautiful Christmas-card carton" of Chesterfields!  I believe his family today would be mortified to see these old ads. Many celebrities of the day associated themselves with the advertising of cigarettes, allowing their pictures on packs, in ads.
Notice the price of the black and white 1916 ad, ten cents for a pack ... that would be $1.00 a carton!!
Enjoy, free to use as you please and, above all, be sweet!

Vintage Fashion

The antique image of the lady on the postcard is very glamorous, indeed!!  The other two ladies are just as glamorous and the large hats that seemed to be a part of every well dressed woman's wardrobe in those days definitely add flair and match the dresses perfectly.
My own mother wore hats, but nothing to compare to these.  Lovely as they are, I have to wonder how in the world those poor ladies managed to store all the large hats, let alone hold up their heads from the weight!!!
Thank goodness fashion changes from year to year and the big hats are a part of history.
Be sweet!!

Beautiful Mother's Day Graphics

I love these graphics ... a lady's hand holding a single rose, one red and one pink, and the hand with the quill is just gorgeous!  They could be used so many ways in crafting a great gift for mom or any special lady.  Get your creative caps on and let's think of how we can use these pretty pictures!!  I think they would be absolutely lovely decorating a candy wrapper , box or card.  My favorite is the one with the pink rose and frilly sleeve.  They would be great to brighten up a plain frame which could hold a special Mother's Day poem, covered with a glossy sealer and placed on a gold plate holder or even to decorate a plain plate ... the verse, graphic and put into a plate hanger for just that perfect place on a bare wall.
I am sure whether you just like to collect them, look at them or use them in crafting, these will be among your favorites as they are mine.  More for tomorrow, Loveys!!
Be sweet now!!!
