Palaver from Pellie & Genghis Khat: November Atc swap

Palaver from Pellie & Genghis Khat: November Atc swap

November ATC Swap

Hi dear friends!!!  I am a member of  Blissfull ATC Swap, where we are designated swap partners each month and create cards from a particular theme.  This month was artist's choice.  My swap partner this month was Penny Plum of Palaver From Pellie & Genghis Khat.  This is such a lovely, lovely blog and Penny is more talented that I realized!
Beautiful ATC Penny made for me.  The lacey look around the tiny cameo is quilling.  It is so beautiful!
The title is SO fitting: Fantasy in Purple
I am in awe of the ATC I received from her in the mail today!  She made a special card just for me after looking at my blog, Angels In My Garden!!  It is purple and came encased in its own little box!  It is beyond beautiful and I love it, love it, love it!
I am posting the card for you all to see and posting the one I made for her.  It is such fun creating these tiny pieces or art.  I am very new and not as accomplished as I would like to be.  I have only made a few, but it has been very relaxing, peaceful somehow to get caught up in creating something for another!
The ATC I made for Penny, Title: Angel Eyes

Be sweet and I hope you like both the cards.  Perhaps you would like to join in the swap.  All are welcome.  The more, the merrier!!

When There's Nothing To Laugh About, Laugh Anyway!

Dancing Tree!

These two pictures are quite different from what I usually post, but we all need a good laugh now and then!  Doesn't that tree have the most unusual shape you ever saw?  I think it is hilarious!
Also, the poor deer hunter, oblivious to the big buck standing right next to him reminds me of my husband.  He always loved to hunt and fish, but he was a big sports fan as well.  I remember once he took a battery radio with him to the deer woods, where he sat quietly in his deer stand, radio volume turned ever so low and went fast asleep!!!  It was just too funny when he came home, sheepishly recounting his afternoon of "being one with nature".  He didn't even know who had won the game!
Be sweet and may angels walk by your side!  We are all connected in more ways than we know!!!

"Back In The Day" Vintage Ad Freebies

A little different from today's "personal" ads
Anyone remember these prices?
With Thanksgiving approaching, this old ad is quite appropriate!

I have 3 old ads from "back in the day" for you!  Don't you just love looking at all the old magazine articles, newspapers, etc. and marvel at how different we live today?  True, it is so much more convenient, but gone are the days when mom was at home wiping her hands on an apron waiting for the kiddies to hurry home from  school, hurrying to gobble up the homemade snack they knew would be waiting on them.  I absolutely loved that time in my life.  It was the happiest I ever knew.  I DID wear an apron, make 3 meals a day from scratch.
My children's school had a Halloween Carnival with a supper in the old cafeteria included in the festivities.  Every year I prepared a huge pan of baked beans for the occasion.  I always remarked that I wondered how many beans I would have to bake to get all my kids through school!  Oh, the joy, the pride I felt!!!
As the holidays draw near, be sweet and may you always walk among angels!

Pink Pretties And A Beauty With Yellow Flowers

Lady with yellow flowers

A Doll For Christmas

Girl With Pink Roses

I believe this is an old Humphrey print
Today I am sharing four of the sweetest images  ... from a lady surrounded by yellow blossoms to a beautiful old Humphrey print.  They are each pretty and unique graphics, free and perfect for craft projects.  I haven't learned to transfer them to fabric yet, but I have seen some adorable little pillows, even coverlets, made using such prints as these.  I am sure it is easy to do.  I saw one decorated with a print that had been transferred to fabric, then pearls surrounded the image and silk flowers (or they may have been fabric) flowers decorated the rest.  It was just beautiful.  I know they are so pretty used in decorating a box or any kind of collaged object as that is mostly what I love to do.  Some of the finished items absolutely look like heirlooms.  They are SO pretty.  I especially love to decorate and craft with angel graphics and those of cute little children.  Whatever you decide to do with them is up to you!  I just hope you are happy with them and like them as much as I do.
Be sweet as always!!!

Three Lovely Old Santas And Not A Pumpkin In Sight!!!

Oh, I hope you like these 3 sweet Santas!  I love Christmas graphics and the old Santa images are gorgeous and make the most beautiful Christmas card you can imagine!  I used homemade cards all done in blue tones one year and they were very pretty.  I am planning to use more variety this year.  You can never go wrong with the traditional reds and greens, but I love the burgandy graphics and other colors as well.  It is just a little different and unique.  Please use these free images any way you wish and I would love to see what you have made if you would like to send me a picture I will post it for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you for coming to my little blog and I appreciate my followers more than you know.  I love all my visitors and read every comment!
Be sweet and treat others the way you would like to be treated!!

Blue Beauties

These ladies with just a hint of blue are positively lovely!  There is something about the color of blue that is so soothing.  I could look at it all day.  These little pretties would look great paired with a matching background, a couple of floral sprays and a bird or two ... maybe even a nest with eggs!  Whatever you come up with, I am positive it will be lovely adorned with these blue beauties!!!
Be sweet!

Never Too Early To Think Of Christmas (especially for Taylor Swift Fanatics)

I just love these little Christmas images!  I tell you, all it takes for me is breathing crisp, cool air and my mind wanders off to snowy days with lights sparkling in the dark, lighting up the night with every color of the rainbow!!  I long for the candy canes, the sweet apple cider with red hots that simmer and leave a wonderful aroma wafting throughout the house ... dragging out the stockings and untangling the lights that I swear every year will be the last time they will be in such a tangled mess when I retrieve them for the next season.  It doesn't take much for me to be as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve trying to get a peek at Santa as he slips in to leave the presents and grab his cookie, wolfing down the glass of milk so he can hurry to his next stop.  I swear when I was little I saw reindeer tracks on our lawn!  Is there anyone who can say with a certainty that I did not?  My great grand children love that story and every word is true!
I have loads of old Victorian Santas, children and Christmas angels so I will begin to slip a few in now and then.  I hope you enjoy these as much as I do and that you can use them in a project or just to print, matt, frame and enjoy!!!
Just have to say it, you know ... be sweet!!!

Free Images - The Innocence of Angels

Something about those angel images I just love and can never get enough of!  Seems like there is an endless supply of angel graphics so apparently I am not alone in the feeling.  They impart a childlike innocence, so pure and an absolute joy to look at and to incorporate into any number of craft projects.  I think they are beautiful decoupaged on a box with little beads, bits of lace or ribbon and whatever your mind can conjure up!  I hope you like these and find a way to use them.  If so, I would love to see how they are used.
Be sweet!!

Ancestors of Our Land

These are very, very old pictures.  They are very unique.  Look at the high cheekbones and the strength in those faces!!  My paternal grandmother was an Indian and my mom had the thick black hair and high strong cheek bones as did my grandfather which had been passed on from my great grammy!  My mother was very beautiful and into her seventies, still had that dark thick full head of hair!  It never turned fully gray, only a strand or two here and there.  I am proud of my heritage.
I hope you are pleased with the pictures and like them as much as I do.
Be sweet and treat others as you would like to be treated.

Angels In Roses

These are two of the loveliest angel images and they are freebies for you to download and use as you wish.  I would like to see what you create with them if you use them in crafts.  I sometimes just like to look at them and enjoy their beauty.  There is something about the image of an angel ... can't put my finger on it, but I am drawn to their beauty and innocence.  I hope you like them as much as I do.
Be sweet!

Digital Art Freebie, Quote By Helen Keller

I love this quote by Helen Keller.  I love so many of the things she said and is remembered for.  I decided to make a digital art page using the quote.
I am surprised as it did not take long at all and the joy it gave me is immeasurable.  I love making anything and I have grown to really enjoy using the digital program I bought when I was still able to work.  I don't even think they make it any more.
I could never master photoshop or the newer ones and it took a long time to learn the correct way to use the one I have.  There are still probably tons of things I could do, but don't know how. I have found out most of what I know by playing around and saying to myself, "Oh, I wonder what this will do!".
I want to know how to add color to a black and white photograph.  There must be a simple way to do it and I love the look of a black and white photo with a flower or some little thing in a beautiful color.
If you use the art please give me credit for it ... that is all I ask and to send someone here to download their own if they would like.
I am beginning to post as much as what I make as the "old stuff" I have acquired!!!
Be sweet, all!!

War Ration Book And Woolworth Menu (Plus Memories)

I think you will really like these two wonderful graphics.  Isn't it fun to see the way it was "back in the day"?
I often wish I was there and think I might have been born in the wrong century!!  I would be perfectly happy, with no computer or any of the comforts we take so for granted today!!  I raised my children in the rural south, where if you saw a cloud of dust on the road you knew you were about to have company!  We had to drive 20 miles just to get a loaf of bread.  We barely knew what store bought bread was anyway!!  I made biscuits and cornbread and homemade yeast rolls all the time.  It was the way I was raised, it was what I knew to do.
I am SO grateful my kids had a chance to grow up the way they did and the way I grew up as well.  They could walk in the woods, explore, fish in the canal in the field beside our house.  They climbed trees, picked dusty blackberries by the roadside in a lard bucket.  That's what I used to cook as that's all I knew to do.  I tease them today that our arteries are probably solid hog fat!!!!  They have such fond memories of their childhood and that, after all, is what is important.  They remember coming home from school and smelling homemade bread or cookies before they even opened the door.  I say to anyone who will listen that those were the happiest days of my life and it is so true.  I was so young when I married, my dad used to say I grew up with my kids, the only thing is, they grew up and I never did!
Don't see any need to grow up now as I want to play dolls and have tea parties with my great grand children.
I do get carried away when I talk of those days!
Be sweet and treat others as you would like to be treated.

Christmas Images Already? Free To Use As You Please

After being sent my own personal angel, I couldn't help but think of Christmas, although Halloween and Thanksgiving have not yet arrived!!
Christmas is my very favorite time of the year.  I think it is to most everyone, especially to the little children.  I remember how excited my own children became weeks before the holiday!  They were like little elves, eyes sparkling with the wonderment of it all.  They loved to go riding at night, marveling at all the twinkling lights.  I believe their little faces outshone even the brightest of lights!  It was a time of joy and excitement for them.
What special memories of Christmas comes to mind for you?
I am sure we all have many that stand out.  I have such special childhood memories myself, of the holiday seasons when my brothers and I were small and my sweet little mom and dad made them all the more special for us.  How lucky we were to have apples, oranges and chocolate santas in our stockings on Christmas morning!!  We actually hung up real stockings, not the kind you buy in a store, but the best ones we could find that we wore to keep us warm during the cold winter days.  They hung proudly and prominently on nails by the tree Dad had cut himself.  We strung popcorn, made paper ornaments and Mama helped us cut out a big star for the tree top.  It was the most beautiful tree in the world to us.
I really get carried away when those memories bubble up!  I hope you like the Christmas images and can use them in your crafting or just enjoy them as I do.
Be sweet!!

God Sent An Angel

Oh, goodness ... where do I start except to say that God has sent to me my own personal angel!!!!  I don't believe she has wings yet unless she tucks them tightly inside the clothes she wears so they don't show and tip people off!!!
NEVER doubt in the power of belief!!!
I have forgiven the person who stole my money and ID.  We have to forgive if we want to be forgiven.  I wonder if he is peaceful when he lies his head down at night.
I wish I knew who he (or she) is so I could look into their eyes and say simply, "You took all I had ... I am unable even to get a Social Security card because you took all my identification, along with all my money and the money for my disabled children.  It is said everyone is equal.  Perhaps it is true.  I do know I am at peace  when my head touches the pillow at night because I have forgiven you."
Be sweet and love each other!!
